The rose gold trend – why we love it

When it comes to the list of most-coveted shades, the rose gold trend seems to reign supreme. Ever since Apple launched the iPhone 6S in this subtle pink hue in 2015, it’s firmly established itself as a go-to shade.

A pleasing mix of two tones – muted pink and metallic gold – there’s something about rose gold that’s universally appealing, as well as soothing and calming.

The magic comes from combining yellow gold, silver and copper metals (the silver and copper teaming up to create the warm pink hue).

Another reason for the rose gold trend? Although it’s a shade of pink, it’s not too pink. Rose gold is the chic, grown-up option for those who might shy away from traditional pink because they feel it verges on garish or gaudy.

The growing rose gold trend

When colour experts Pantone chose rose gold as a Pantone Colour of the Year in 2016 (as Rose Quartz, Pantone 13-1520), this helped spread its influence to fashion, accessories, beauty, homewares and of course stationery.

There are now plenty of items to feed a rose gold obsession. From trainers to make-up palettes, hair dyes to book covers, weddings to kitchens – there’s even a private jet in rose gold available for high fliers who demand a fix of their beloved hue at 40,000 ft.

Something so coveted by high street consumers was always going to make its way to the corporate market – and the rose gold trend is now proving a strong choice for corporate gifting.

At Noted in Style, we’ve noticed a definite increase in demand for stationery in this beautiful pinky metallic hue – even rivalling the popularity of copper stationery.

Thoughtful and unique corporate gifting is all about delighting people – whether they’re clients or colleagues – with items they genuinely love and will use again and again. So choosing rose gold office stationery definitely makes sense.
