Creative Review works with Noted in Style

Creative Review magazine is respected for its cutting edge editorial, stunning visuals and quality production, and has developed a strong, inspired and loyal readership across the globe. So we were delighted when they approached us with an exciting project to work on for them. They needed a creative gift for some very creative people.

‘Creative Leaders 50’ is a new scheme from Creative Review, in partnership with Workfront, designed to publicly present and praise individuals who are excelling in leading creative businesses and driving change. The 50 for 2016 were revealed in the June 2016 edition of the magazine, which coincided with the launch of the new-look Creative Review. These chosen fifty, who will be added to each year, will form the core of a ‘Creative Leaders’ network.  The Creative Leaders selected so far are a diverse group, encompassing stage designers and record label owners, as well as creative directors, project managers and CEO’s. All creative fields are covered from drama, dance, music, fashion, graphic design, PR and more.

Creative Review wanted a gift that would be appreciated and used by all in this diverse group. Moleskine notebooks have long been the favoured notebook in the creative sector, so it seemed a natural choice to produce a branded Moleskine gift for the leaders. We also created a branded tray case alongside, to elevate the notebook and generate excitement for the recipients as they opened the bespoke packaging to reveal their gift.

To produce these Moleskine gift sets, we individually debossed each black, classic Moleskine notebook by hand (as we do with all our jobs) and placed them into a tray case made from 350gsm GF Smith Colourplan card. The base colour was ‘Smoke’ and the sleeve ‘Ebony’, with a silver foil of the 50 Leaders logo on the sleeve – only the best materials and hand made, of course.

Not only did Creative Review require gifts for the chosen 50 Leaders, they also wanted to offer everyone who subscribed to their magazine a branded Moleskine of their own. So, after a discussion on which shades would suit best, we produced this colourful array of Moleskine notebooks branded on the front with the Creative Review logo and on the back with our own logo, to strengthen the collaboration.

Creative Review and Noted in Style

We wanted to add a little something extra to this order, and to show off our own creativity. So we set our design team the task of creating a small extra gift for the recipients. They created a clever little pen-loop holder which is subtly inserted into the back pocket of every notebook, allowing the pen loop to be detached and stuck into the book.
