Calling all art lovers – The London Illustration Fair 2014 takes place on the first weekend in December, showcasing the work of fifteen up-and-coming illustrators. Some of the selected artists exhibiting at the fair include award-winning illustrator, Robbie Porter, freelance illustrator Jonny Glover, and Dan Hillier, whose work has recently graced the front cover of rock duo, Royal Blood’s debut album and can be seen on billboards across the UK.

As well as artwork for sale, the event has live demonstrations of lino printing and screen printing. Screen printing is close to our hearts here at Noted in Style, being one of the customisation options we offer. The technique involves a mesh screen – or silk screen – having a stencil applied to it. Ink is then pushed through the mesh screen and onto the product, only adhering to the areas not blocked off by the stencil. When more than one colour is required in the design, the ink must be left to dry before the next colour is added via an additional screen. Screen printing is a great option for customising premium notebooks if you need your design to be Pantone matched, and it can look spectacular and eye-catching on any smooth surface.

Other highlights of the fair include affiliated artist Louise Pomeroy who, according to the event’s promo, has given the entrance wall a ‘dark and disturbing anti-Christmas makeover’ – perfect for any Grinches out there! – as well as pop-up food stalls, live DJs and a festive bar to get you in the Christmas spirit.

The London Illustration Fair runs from Friday 5th to Sunday 7th of December in the East End’s Hoxton Arches. For details on opening times and how to buy tickets, please see The London Illustration Fair’s website.
